Either way, most mac users just want the bowling pin because it’s trendy and they aren’t going to shave either way.

LINUX - how its used is totally up to how much experience you have with it, and it works quite well as long as you know what you’re doing.(old fashioned blade)
Windows - anybody can use it and there’s a %5 chance of Fail, but it gets the job done nicely as long as you keep it in good working order. (electric shaver)
Mac - For Paris Hilton and anyone who has no idea what the difference between a GPU and a CPU is. (the bowling pin is just so you can beat the monitor…

Linux: Useful for certain situations, but it’s a little pretentious and far too much work at times.
Windows: It’s ok, it gets the job done, but you’re a little uneasy about using more microsoft software.
Mac: Doesn’t let you see whats happening, incompatable with a staggeringly large list of software, and it’s created by a group of hipster douchebags.
Really, Windows is the only choice that doesn’t make you a douche.

like any stereotype, this is an exaggeration of a a truth that actually does exist. macs are pretty and good with basic programs, but are hopeless for anything beyond that.

Linux is powerful, but you have to learn to use it.
Windows is moderately powerful, and has a moderate learning curve.
Mac is low power and you can learn to use it with the directions included on the 3×5 card.
“my mac seems to allow me to do all the computing i need to do.”
My bowling pin allows me to do all the shaving I need to do.

Makes sense…
Linux: Sharpest of the razors, but you gotta know how to use it, or you will hurt yourself.
Windows: pretty, easy to use, hard to hurt yourself.
Mac: ….pretty useless. Not really bad, but not much point to them either. Mac is slowly turning into a normal PC anyway (intel CPU).

i dont know why you always keep talking bout the right click… it is possible to connect a 2button mouse to a mac too… but keep using your vista and be happy with it…
Linux: The Razor is hard to learn, but once mastered it is so useful it can even tear apart your enemies
Windows: The Shaver is useful some, but can’t help anyone who’s beard is too short, or too long, and it constantly gets full of crap and needs cleaning.
Mac: The Bowling Pin is one of the Worst Analogies I can imagine. Maybe if they had used a butter knife or something….Seriously it doesn’t relate to anything. I mean, if you are going for the point that it is smooth, you could have used a baby’s Butt….or a bowling ball…or….anything.
I spent 2 hours trying to get my recording equipment to work on free PC software that took 3 hours to find. When I was finished I had a very mediocre recording.
On my Sister’s mac I plugged in my equipment, had a band practice, and once I was finished had a superb recording that I would consider a great demo, and all I had to do was plug it into the USB, using the software that came with it….
So which is most useful?

Andy, if you knew just a little about recording equipment you wouldnt have to spend 3 hours looking for it.
And your sisters crappy mac had the software allready what stupid comparisson are you trying to make here ?
macs are PCs… deal with it, its just inside a pwetty petite casing that costs as much as my entire rig.. MAC is like B&O looks like gold but its only plated.
A completely pointless and really stupid analogy. Exactly what I would expect from a Windows user.
But then, Windows users rarely understand how computers actually work. They certainly don’t understand the Macintosh OSX so all they can do is make comparisons that do nothing but expose their own ignorance.

I loved this analogy. Very accurate.
And for the mac fans that fail to understand: it doesn’t say that mac is incapable of doing what it claims to do. It says it’s useless for anything beyond that.
There’s much more to computers beyond what mac offers. The fact that it covers YOUR simple needs, doesn’t mean it can do everything.
Linux: Hard to use but effective
Windows: Babyproof but not as elegant
Mac: Irrelevant

This makes no sense. I have a Mac and have almost never had any problems with it. I’ve never had a virus and its only just started acting strange after 3 years of me taking semi poor care of it. I say you do a real comparison and not make yourself look like a douche while trying to claim all mac fans are.
Using that logic, you’re suggesting that using a Mac is like bowling with a bowling pin…

And that’s how the analogy works: To efficiently use a PC, you have to know what you’re doing. If you did at the time, you would have easily found free recording software that worked fine (there’s plenty out there) and been able to use it.

Yeah, but the Linux Blade is Dull, you lost the charger for the Windows trimmer, so it always dies and I’d rather grow a beard and go bowling!
But if you knew how, you could sharpen the Linux blade, and losing the charger was your own damn fault.
